(Almost literally) Last minute Specialization Review stuff

I have Spec review in about three hours, and just 99% finished everything I needed to get ready for it. Last few images from the presentation. I also just started a video series, I'm going to try and include a snapshot from that soon

This is a candy record that I did for our mold making project in Sculpture II. This example has no added food coloring or flavoring, so it just looks like corn syrup, and tastes like it too. It's also a 12" record, the second I've done. I've done several 45's, which I have been fairly succesful at getting to play on a record player, I haven't been successful getting the 12" records to play though, I think it has something to do with the mold I'm using for them, so as soon as I get my hands on some more latex, I'm going to give it another shot. I really need to get in with someone that knows what they are doing when it comes to making candy, I can never seem to get it quite as hard as I need it, and they almost always come out sticky, in varying degrees. Once I perfect them I'm going to shop around some record stores and see if any would like to carry them

Two of the three pieces I sold in the Winthrop silent art auction last year. Top one sold to Alfie at Gallery Up, and I unfortunately I have no idea who purchased the bottom piece. They are studies for some larger scale pieces I plan on attempting soon

Sculpture

I'm going through Specialization this time around for Sculpture. Here are some works from the past two semesters in sculpture:

Cardboard Pillow that is currently in the Undergraduate show

Body form project. It deals with the conflict between wanting to be alone but also wanting attention from others simultaneously, and rejecting the attention when it is received (dome placed over handles in the ground the enables you to hold the dome firmly to the ground as someone tries to lift the dome)

Collaborative project for Sculpture II with Carey Morton, Nikki Patrick, Neomi Taylor, and Jeromy Ross

More SPR stuff

Some more recent works, self-portrait on a cigar box for Painting I, and a print gone back into with pen on monotyped paper from a relief block I did for Relief I.

More foundation images

Here are some images from Drawing II and Figure Drawing:

Some works from 2D-Design I and II, from my freshmen year.

Paul Martyka was my professor for both classes

Specialization Review

I'm going through specialization review this Friday for Sculpture. Putting my presentation together now. I'm going to post some of the images that I am including. These images will date from my freshmen year to the present. I didn't start making art until I got to Winthrop so you could call this the Jacob Vaz retrospective, but since retrospectives usually span many years...

Don't call it a retrospective, I've been here for (two) years
